The municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Tay Ho People’s Committee and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism held the conference to discuss on turning the West Lake into an attractive cultural and spiritual tourist site of Hanoi. The discussion took place in Hanoi capital on December 24th.
At the conference, the department and the committee also listed variety of entertainment services that will be offered at the site, including rowing, diving and food. The list will be submitted to the municipal People’s Committee for approval.
Up to now, Tay Ho District has carried out some activities to upgrade the lake-shores, pavements, parks and benches around the West Lake. Also, the district has recently launched electric care services to attract more visitors to the capital city of Hanoi. The West Lake is expected to be a cannot-be-missed in any Hanoi’s city tours.
Being said to be the lung of Hanoi, the West Lake owns its long history which is attached with Thang Long – Hanoi’s formation and development. In addition, the lake is regarded as a treasure of cultural values with at least 21 pagodas, shrines and communal houses as well as many valuable artefacts.
